Police said the driver was crossing the roadway at a green light around 8:42 a.m. local time when Braden stepped in front of the car’s path.
The Cobb County School Districtpreviously told WAGAthat the victim was a student who was hit while walking to school.
Braden, who would have turned 16 on Friday, April 5, was an organ donor and his mom believes he will now help at least 70 people.
“We went into the operating room when they did everything, and we talked to him until his heart stopped beating,” mom Emily Little told WAGA. “We told him how much we loved him and how proud we were of him.”
The money spent on the fundraiser will go toward “family expenses.”
