2 Men Hospitalized with Serious Injuries After Tesla Falls from L.A. Overpass, Bursts Into Flames

Two men have been hospitalized with serious injuries after a Tesla fell from an overpass in Los Angeles and burst into flames on Sunday.

The two men inside the Tesla were able to escape before the vehicle burst into flames.

The footage also showed firefighters standing on the overpass where a large portion of a metal fence had been knocked down.

Police believe the driver simply lost control of the vehicle before the crash, and do not suspect the driver was operating under the influence.

The freeway was closed for hours following the crash, per the reports. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

The L.A. Police Department, L.A. Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
