One teenager is dead and another man was injured after they were stabbed on a street in New York City on Thanksgiving morning, according to the New York Police Department.

A 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man had gotten into an argument with another group and were attacked in front of 96 Lafayette St. in Chinatown at around 1:50 a.m., the New York Police Department told PEOPLE in a statement.

Police law enforcement sources told theNY Postthat the incident happened outside an axe-throwing bar called Live Axe. Police did not say how the altercation between the two groups started, and there is no confirmation that the teens were in the bar.

The pair were both stabbed in the torso, police said in the statement, although they did not specify the type of weapon. Sources told thePostthat the sharp object used in the stabbing was not an axe.

The 19-year-old man, also unidentified, was stabbed and taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, police told the outlet. WPIX reported that the man had non-life-threatening injuries.

ThePostreported that the teenagers who were stabbed were brothers.
