A 10-year-old boy is missing, his mother is dead and his father is on the run, Texas police tell PEOPLE.

Police believe that Ian Aguilar, 10, is with his father, and stated in an Amber Alert issued for the child – who has been missing since Tuesday morning – that they believe him to be in “grave or immediate danger.”

A source within the Wilmer Police Department tells PEOPLE that neither the father nor son had been located as of about 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Juan Aguilar Cano - According to Wilmer Police, the suspect Juan Aguilar Cano abducted his son Ian Aguilar from a home in the 20 block of Oakdale Street in Wilmer Tuesday morning

Aguilar Cano – who is 5-feet-7 inches tall and weighs 160 lbs., and has gauged ears — was last seen in Wilmer, which is about 16 miles outside of Dallas, and had been driving a tan 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe.

An AMBER Alert was issued on Tuesday night for 10-year-old Ian Aguilar who was abducted in the Dallas County city of Wilmer. The boy’s father 38-year-old Juan Aguilar-Cano is wanted in connection to a homicide.

There were no previous calls of service to the home alerting law enforcement to potential domestic violence or any other problems, the source tells PEOPLE.
