Adam Sandler Plays Impromptu Pickup Basketball Game with University of Arizona Players

Sandler is a well-known basketball fan, having been spotted playing pickup games around the country withother celebrities and athletesover the years. TheBig Daddystar, meanwhile, has a sister who lives in Tucson and has been seen around the city on a handful of occasions, according tothe Associated Press.

The futureSaturday Night Livestar grew up an avid basketball fan, playing for his Jewish community center’s youth team before playing high school basketball for Manchester Central High School in New Hampshire.

“Basketball started for me [when] I was a young man,” Sandlersaid, according to a Netflix story about the actor’s love for the game.

Sandler has folded his love for sports — particularly basketball — into his filmography over the years, as well. He’s starred in sports-based comedies, likeWaterboyandThe Longest Yard, while also recruiting NBA stars to join him on-screen in films likeUncut GemsandHustle.

InHustle, Sandler plays an NBA scout for the Philadelphia 76ers and shares the screen with 25 former and current pro players, according toTime.com. Among them are NBA legends, like Shaquille O’Neal and Julius Erving, to modern stars like, Trae Young and Anthony Edwards.
