All About Emma Stone and Dave McCary's Daughter, Louise Jean

Emma Stoneisn’t just an Oscar-winning actress — she’s also recently taken on the role of mom.

ThePoor Thingsstar has one child, a daughter named Louise Jean McCary, with her husbandDave McCary.

Stone and McCary first metwhile filming an episode ofSaturday Night Livein December 2016 and quickly hit it off. A sourceconfirmed to PEOPLEin October 2017 that Stone and McCary were officially an item and they eventually made theiraward show debutat the 2019SAG Awards.

In December 2019, they confirmed their engagement as McCaryshared a photo on Instagramof himself and Stone smiling as she held out her engagement ring toward the camera and they latertied the knotin September 2020.

Though Stone and McCary have not shared much about their private lives in the years since that engagement post, we have learned a few sweet details about their little one since her arrival.

Emma Stone called motherhood “very exciting”

While promoting her leading role inCruellain May 2021, Stone gave a rare comment about motherhood. Duringan interviewwith British presenter Mark Heyes, Stone was asked about her experience dealing with COVID-19 lockdowns while becoming a first-time mom.

“It’s very, very exciting,” she said. “I feel lucky with what lockdown has been but it has been an insane year.”

“Emma and Dave have a great marriage and both wanted a child,” a source close to Stone told PEOPLE. “They are a very grounded and private couple and were ready for a family.”

“Emma is close to her family and good friends but not the type to flaunt her personal life,” added the Stone source. “Dave respects that about her and is the same way. They have a great life together and support each other.”

Whileaccepting her second Oscarfor Best Actress for her role inPoor Things, Stone paid tribute to her family, including her daughter Louise.

“I really just want to thank my family. My mom, my brother Spencer, my dad, myhusband Dave [McCary], I love you so much,” she began."

“And, most importantly,my daughter, who’s gonna be 3in three days and has turned our lives technicolor,” the star continued, before quotingpal Taylor Swift’s lyric: “I love youbigger than the whole sky, my girl.” (Swift’s song “Bigger Than the Whole Sky” is from herGrammy-winning albumMidnights.)
