All About Ice-T and Coco Austin's Daughter Chanel Nicole

Ice-TandCoco Austin’s love grew when they welcomed their daughter, Chanel Nicole.

TheLaw & Order: SVUactor and model have celebrated several milestones throughout theirtwo-decade-long marriage, including his Grammy Award win, her clothing line and starting a family. After meeting in 2001 and getting married in Las Vegas the following year, Ice-T and Coco encouraged each other as they pursued their ambitions in Hollywood.

One of the couple’s greatest accomplishment together, though, was the birth of Chanel in 2015. As afather of three, Ice-T has revealed what it’s been like raising a child with Coco.

“Muhammad Ali said it best, ‘When a man has a child in the second half of his life, after 50,it resets his life,' ” he said on The Big Tigger Show.

As for Coco, the first-time mom doesn’t miss a chance to honor her daughter, whom she says is a perfect blend of her and the rapper. The feeling is mutual as Chanel expressed in an appearance onThe Tamron Hall Showfor Mother’s Day in 2023. “The first time I was born, I loved you,” she told Coco.

On the parenting front, Ice-T says they have a unique approach but it works for them. “Our parenting is a lot different than the normal, square couple from Oklahoma. I’m a f—— rock star, it’s different,” he told PEOPLE.

She was born in 2015

Ice-T and Coco welcomed their daughter, Chanel Nicole, on Nov. 28, 2015, in Englewood, New Jersey.

The following week, Coco continued expressing her joyon X(formerly known as Twitter). “My miracle! Yes I’m such a proud mommy!!” she captioned a picture of her holding Chanel.

She shares similarities with both parents

One thing that fans always point out about Chanel is thatshe looks just like her dadand Ice-T addressed it in a 2023 interview withToday, countering popular opinion.

“It’s cool. I think she kind of gets irritated with people telling her she looks like her dad instead of her mom. But if you look at any old pictures of Coco, there’s similarities there," the hip-hop star said.

On the other hand, his wife noted that Chanel has perfected her dad’s “famous side eye” but she does have her personality.

“She’s very loveable, she’s very sweet,” Coco told PEOPLE in 2017. “I think she’s got the attitude from dad, and she’s got my lovable personality. I’d say she’s a mix.”

She’s a natural performer

When she was born, Ice-T and Coco announced that Chanel hadher own Instagram accountand they have documented her life on it since. Today, she has nearly half a million followers who have watched her grow and pursue her modeling and performing ambitions, as described in her bio.

She also added that Chanel loves singing and dancing. “She watches Daddy at the concerts … she sees him move with the microphone, so now she knows how to … give it up to the audience,” the former fashion designer shared.

Chanel has also added acting to that list. While talking to PEOPLE in January 2024 at theSVU25th anniversary celebration in New York, not only did her parents reveal that Chanel was interested in making a cameo on the show, but also that their daughter already had representation.

“You know Chanel and Ryan Buggle [who plays Noah, son ofMariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson] have the same agents. We didn’t even know that.She just got an agent,” Ice-T said.

She’s interested in fashion

As she’s grown, Chanel has shown an interest in fashion with her outfits, costumes and matching looks with her mom. The aspiring performer has even graced the runway at New York Fashion Week twice.

In February 2017, she walked the runway for Rookie USA in the “Nike/Jordan fashion show” with her parents. Six years later, Chanelreturned to NYFW to walkon her own. She took part in the 13th annual Rookie USA fashion show wearing a matching blue sweatsuit and at the end of the runway, she blew a kiss to the camera.

Chanel recapped the special momenton Instagramwith a photo and heartfelt message, “I did it!! I was stressed to the max but I didn’t show it on the runway!! My first fashion show!! Thank you @rookieusa for the opportunity!”

She is close with her older siblings

Chanel is Ice-T and Coco’s only child together, but the rapper was a father before she was born and has two other kids from previous relationships.

Ice-T had his daughter, LeTesha Marrow, in 1976 with his high school girlfriend, Adrienne. His son, Tracy Marrow Jr., was born in 1991 and he welcomed him with ex-girlfriend, Darlene Ortiz.

Chanel also celebrated Thanksgiving Day in 2023 with her brother and he posted a photo of them hugging at dinner, calling her his “twin” and “best friend.”

The Hollywood Walk of Fame recipent toldE! Newsthat his wife and daughter are working on an upcoming show calledCoco Loves Chanel. The new project would be a follow-up to the couple’s original E! reality series,Ice Loves Coco, with much less focus on Ice-T.

“It’s about mothers and Coco’s girlfriends that are mothers,” he explained. “It’s a feel good show … It’s kind of all about the life of mothers in entertainment with their kids and how they connect and things they go through and stuff.”

She’s a social media sensation

Ice-T and Coco proudly share pictures of their daughter online, including of her daily life and special moments with family and friends. The “Colors” artist has been open about how they approach social media with Chanel.

“It’s fun and she likes doing it,” he told PEOPLE in 2023. “If she didn’t, we definitely wouldn’t do it.”

Ice-T explained that they started her own Instagram account when she was born because they knew they were going to want to share hundreds of photos of Chanel, but didn’t want to do it on their own personal pages. The father of three also expressed his thoughts on privacy.

“We’re not afraid of anything happening. People will say, ‘don’t show her face.’ We’re not concerned with that," he added. “We just feel like we’re sharing something that makes us happy.”

Ice-T shared that they would stop it immediately if Chanel no longer enjoyed it, adding, “We watch everything and post everything.”
