A 2-year-old Texas girl is missing — and her mother, who reported the girl missing on Sunday morning, now faces charges, PEOPLE confirms.
But investigators believe Christon wasn’t telling the truth. They arrested her on charges of filing a false report and endangering a child near a body a water, according to a second news release.
Two fishermen told police that on the morning of Hazana’s disappearance, they heard cries for help and went to help Christon, which is when authorities were called.

Just nine days later, on Sept. 8, the individual had died from the disease.It was the state’s first human case of EEE since 2010 and their first fatal case of EEE since 2007, the agency said.

And the couple reveals they found out about the pregnancy on a special holiday.
“We were actually at Caroline’s sister’s house in Austin over Christmas. We’ve been trying for a while so it wasn’t a surprise but Caroline just had that sixth sense of ‘I think I’m pregnant.’ She came out of the bathroom, we were all in the kitchen, and she announced it,” Michael says.
“It was quite the Christmas present,” Caroline adds.
