African Flamingo Missing from Kansas Zoo for 17 Years Spotted in Texas Living in the Wild

Photo: Getty An African flamingo missing from a Kansas zoo for 17 years recently was spotted out in the wild in Texas. TheAssociated Pressreported that the pink bird is one of two flamingos that escaped from the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita, Kansas, in 2005 during a storm. Since the bird was a newcomer to the Sedgwick County Zoo,blood testing had not yet been doneat the time to determine the bird’s sex.

African Mountain Kingdom's First Lady Accused of Murdering Previous First Lady

On Feb. 4, Maesaiah Thabane was charged with murder in the death of Prime Minister Thomas Thabane’s estranged wife Lipolelo Thabane. The victim was fatally shot near her home in the kingdom’s capital, Maseru, in June 2017, at the age of 58, according toCNN,ReutersandBBC.

African Serval Cat Rescued from Ohio Tree Tests Positive for Cocaine

An African serval cat is in the care of the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden after officials say the feline tested positive for cocaine following its capture — which came after police arrested its owner. In January, the over 30-Lb. cat, named Amiry, escaped from his owner’s car in the city’s Oakley neighborhood,according to Fox 19. Amiry, at first thought to be a leopard, was found high in a tree when Hamilton County Dog Wardens and Cincinnati Animal CARE responded to the scene.

African Students Fleeing Ukraine Claim Discrimination at Poland Border: 'We're Not Getting Any Help'

Black people say they have had issues using public transportation to get to the the borders, while others say they have not been permitted to cross into other countries,according to Insider. Korrine Sky, a 26-year-old medical student living in Ukraine, told Insider that African students were told of an alleged “Ukrainians first” policy when they struggled to move out of the country.
