If things go his way, former Sen. Al Franken might return to Capitol Hill.
“I’m keeping my options open,” Franken said in anew interview withThe Republicanwhen asked about running for office again.
“It was a very weird, tough situation at that moment,” Franken said this week of his resignation,The Hill reports. “I love the Senate. I love the work that I did.”
When heannounced his resignationon the Senate floor three years ago, Franken said, “Some of the allegations against me are simply not true.

Speaking in a press conference Friday, House SpeakerNancy Pelosiannounced that the “security infrastructure” of the U.S. Capitol would be under review following last week’s deadly pro-Donald Trumpriot, which put the lives of lawmakers (including the vice president) at risk.
“We must subject this whole complex to scrutiny in light of what happened and the fact that the inauguration is coming,” Pelosi said. “Members are moving forward with strong oversight from committees, of course, to have after-action review.

A 46-year-old pizza delivery man with a bomb fastened around his neck robbed a Pennsylvania bank in August 2003, walking out with more than $8,000 in cash.
“Why is no one coming to get this thing off of me?” he asked authorities.
Afterward, police recovered several pages of handwritten instructions from Wells’ car. The papers were addressed to the “Bomb Hostage” and contained directions first to rob the bank and then to proceed on an elaborate scavenger hunt for keys and codes to disable the explosive Wells wore.

Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy, who is leading the investigation, said in a statement, “We continue to encourage anyone who believes they may have been a victim of a sexual offense, no matter how long ago it was, to contact us.”
“We understand it can feel like a difficult step to take and I want to reassure that we have a team of specialist officers available to advise and support," said Furphy.

Democrats in South Carolina are asking Gov. Henry McMaster to issue an apology after he said that he looks forward to the day that members of the party “are so rare, we have to hunt them with dogs.”
The Republican leader, 75, made the remarks at a state GOP convention on Saturday,according to NBC News.
A spokesman for the governor said that he meant the comment as a “joke,”theGreenville Newsreports.
