It was 2016 when inspirational pop artist NEDY walked into a well-known restaurant in California, looking for a waitress job that would help her pay a growing pile of bills. She was quickly hired, but soon, she would find herself on a three-year journey of taunts and teasing and cutdowns from her very own co-workers.
She was 27 years old, and she was being bullied.
But one night after one extremely difficult shift at the restaurant, the budding songwriter decided to sit down with those hurtful feelings and write a song.

And while a few of these pictures now find themselves on the cover ofFamily Ties, all of them reminded Godwin of not only where he came from, but where he ultimately wants to go.

As reports of alleged voter intimidation sprout up ahead of next month’s midterm elections, Attorney GeneralMerrick Garlandsaid Monday that the U.S. Justice Department “has an obligation to guarantee a free and fair vote.”
In a press conference Monday, Garland was asked aboutreports of armed “vigilantes"posting up outside of polling places in Arizona and separate reports from Texas, where the Republican secretary of state recently announced he wouldsend inspectors to observe vote-counting.

Keith Sime has a message for other seniors who would balk at the thought of running in a race: “You don’t know what you can do until you try it.”
The competition also aims to promote exercise and vitality in older adults. “I didn’t step foot on a track as an adult until I was 75 years of age,” said Lynne Palmer, an 80-year-old athlete who ran in the 50-meter dash.

The Austrian advertising agency behindBurger King Austria’sPrideWhopper campaign has apologized following backlash on social media.
On Saturday, agency Jung von Matt Donau posted an apology to itsLinkedInpage, acknowledging that the agency did not engage with Austria’s queer community enough before launching the Pride Whopper — burgers that feature either two sesame-seed top buns or two bottom buns rather than one of each — as part of Burger King Austria’s Pride Month campaign.
