A community in Alabama is mourning after a beloved high school teacher, bus driver and father of four was killed in an accident on campus.The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said Mark Ridgeway, 58,died Wednesdayafter he waspinned betweentwo school buses outside of Mortimer Jordan High School in Kimberly, according to ABC affiliate WBMA-LD and AL.com.Ridgeway was conducting standard checks of his bus prior to his morning route when the unoccupied vehicle started to roll away, per the reports.

Police arrested an Alabama couple who allegedly put their 19-year-old son’s dead body in a freezer.
On Sunday, Henry County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Michael Shane Halstead, 44, and Karen Tysinger Halstead, 42, in Jack, Alabama in Coffee County, Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship told PEOPLE. The couple are currently in police custody at the Henry County Jail after being arrested and charged with one count of Abuse of a Corpse.

An Alabama man is behind bars, charged with two counts of capital murder in connection with allegedly killing his 3-year-old son and his 62-year-old mother on Sunday.
Desmond Burt, Sr., is being held without bond, the Birmingham Police Department confirms.
According to the department’s press release, officers conducting a welfare check Sunday found the bodies of Cynthia Delane Burt and her grandson, Desmond Burt, Jr., after forcing their way inside a Birmingham home.

An Alabama woman is the subject of a missing persons investigation after authorities say she disappeared after calling 911 to report a child walking along the side of a highway.
Carlethia “Carlee” Nichole Russell, 25, contacted 911 at about 9:34 p.m. on Thursday and reported seeing a toddler walking on the side of I-459 South near mile marker 11, according to apress releasefrom the Hoover Police Department.
