Alabama Bassist Teddy Gentry Arrested for Weed Possession, Then Released 30 Minutes Later

Teddy Gentry.Photo: Erika Goldring/GettyBassist Teddy Gentry, a founding member of the famed country group Alabama, was arrested on marijuana charges Monday in the band’s home state.Gentry, 70, was booked into the Cherokee County Jail for unlawful possession of marijuana in the second degree and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia,according to jail records.He was released less than 30 minutes later on his own recognizance, a spokesperson for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office confirms to PEOPLE.

Curtis Zy-Keith Means was born at 21 weeks at the University of Alabama at Birmingham hospital when his mother, Michelle “Chelly” Butler, underwent emergency surgery to deliver, according to Guinness. When Butler gave birth to her son on July 5, 2020, Curtis weighed just 14.8 oz, or 420 grams. Curtis' due date was originally set to Nov. 11 of that year, making him nearly 19 weeks early. Now, the 16-month-old is healthy and happy.

Alabama Can Become First State to Execute Inmate with Nitrogen Gas, State's Supreme Court Rules

Although the order did not require that Smith be executed with pure nitrogen, per the AP, Marshall’s request specified in court filings that he planned to utilize the new method.
