The Central Alabama CrimeStoppersannounced over the weekend that Darin Starr, 54, was in the custody of police in Hondo, Texas, after turning himself in around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
“Members of the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office are traveling to Texas to take Starr into custody and transport him back” to Alabama, states the site, which features an image of Darin’s new mugshot.
No other details were available at press time.

Alabama Governor Kay Ivey signed a bill on Monday that prohibits businesses and public institutions in the state from requiring COVID-19 vaccine passports.
The Republican politician, 76, signed the bill after it passed the Alabama Senate 30 to 0 on April 8 and the House 76 to 16 last Monday, according to theMontgomery Advertiser. It goes into effect immediately.
“I made the choice to get the COVID19 vaccine & glad for the peace of mind it brings,” she added.

An Alabama grandmother is accused of letting her 19-month-old grandson ingest methadone, which killed the child, police said.
According toa press releasefrom the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in Alabama, Michelle Lee Light, 44, was arrested and charged on Sunday with chemical endangerment of a child resulting in death, a Class A felony. She is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.
Journey died on July 21, 2018, due to the “toxicity of that substance,” police said.
