A 22-year-old Alaska woman pleaded guilty to murdering her 19-year-old “best friend” in 2019 after a man who was allegedly catfishing her offered her $9 million to kill someone.
On Wednesday, Denali Brehmer of Anchorage pleaded guilty to first-degree murder,according to a statement from the Alaska Department of Law.
Brehmer agreed to plead guilty to murdering Cynthia Hoffman, 19, a teen with developmental disabilities, in exchange for having five other charges against her dropped,KTUUreports.

When the parents of a 19-year-old Alaska woman reported her missing a day after she went to the park with friends, they didn’t think they’d be planning her funeral a week later.
McIntosh and Brehmer were each charged with one count of murder and one count of tampering with evidence,according to online court records. Their bail was set at $200,000.
In addition to McIntosh and Brehmer, three more people have been arrested.

Speaking to NBC affiliate KTUU of Anchorage about the alarming attack, which was captured on video, Hansen recalled the terrifying moment when she was knocked to the ground.
“I thought someone had not been paying attention and hit me with a bike or something,” Hansen told the outlet. “I had put my hands up to my head, and I’m like, ‘I’m bleeding.'”
Luckily Hansen regained her composure quickly after the kick.

Calderwood was charged with kidnapping, tampering with evidence and first- and second-degree murder, all in connection with the Oct. 17, 2019, disappearance of Anesha “Duffy” Murnane.
Police say Murnane, a resident of Homer, vanished while walking to a doctor’s appointment.
Calderwood has yet to appear in an Alaska court, and has not entered pleas to the charges against him. Lawyer information was not immediately available for him.
