Alex Murdaugh will remain in jail pending a court-ordered psychiatric evaluation after a judge denied bond for the once-prominent South Carolina attorney accused ofmasterminding a $4.3 million insurance payout scheme.
For the second time in the past several weeks, Murdaugh, 53, appeared in a South Carolina courtroom for a bond hearing — this time on felony charges for allegedly misappropriating an insurance settlement meant for the sons of his family’s late housekeeper, Gloria Satterfield.

The jury in the Alex Murdaugh murder trial learned that the embattled attorney accused of killing his wife and son wore different clothing on the night of their shooting deaths — before and after their slayings.
On Wednesday, prosecutors in the highly charged case showed jurors a Snapchat video of the now-disbarred attorney wearing a blue button-down shirt and khaki pants about an hour before the murders,WJCLandFox Newsreport.

Alex Murdaughhas shaved his head as he begins his life in prison.
On Friday morning, the disgraced lawyerreceived two life sentencesfor the brutal murders of his wifeMaggie, 52, and son,Paul, 22. The sentences will run consecutively.
In a new mugshot hours after his sentencing, Murdaugh is seen with a shaved head and a yellow jumpsuit.
The look is much different than the one Murdaugh had when he was sentenced.

Prominent South Carolina attorney Alex Murdaugh was shot in Hampton County, South Carolina, on Saturday less than three months after his wife Margaret “Maggie” Murdaugh and son Paul Murdaugh weremurdered at their home.
“He was shot in the head while he was changing a tire,” Murdaugh’s attorney Jim Griffin confirms to PEOPLE. “He is conscious and talking, which is a very good sign.”
Murdaugh, 53, was reportedly transported toParkers Emergency and Trauma Centerin Savannah, Georgia, according toIsland PacketandFitsNews.
