In 2019,Scooter Braun bought Swift’s former record label, Big Machine, from founderScott Borchettaand with it, heacquired the mastersto Swift’s first six albums. Continuing her very public fight to own her art, the “Blank Space” singer announced she planned tore-record her entire catalogof songs in an effort to reclaim her masters. Her contract legally allowed her tobegin releasing her own versionsof each album in November 2020, andFearless (Taylor’s Version)was the first to drop.
