A doctor from Texas has received an apology from American Airlines, after flight attendants allegedly threatened to kick her and her 8-year-old son off a plane because they deemed her outfit inappropriate.
Dr. Latisha “Tisha” Rowe, who specializes in family medicine in Houston, went viral on Twitter on June 30 after sharing her experience on a flight from Jamaica to Miami.
Rowe alleged she was then told she needed to cover up.

American Airlines is apologizing after a woman and her young child were kicked off a flight to South Carolina last Thursday because their rare, genetic skin condition caused concern amongst the crew.
Jordan Flakeshared the heartbreaking storyto Facebook on Feb. 28 writing, “Jackson and I were just discriminated against… big time!”
“We boarded our American Airlines flight where everyone smiled and talked to Jackson. Before take off a man (employee called on flight to handle the situation) came up to my row and asked the 2 men sitting next to me to get up,” Flake wrote.

American Airlines is looking for a little extra assistance from its corporate staff.
As airports are preparing for a surge in travelers this summer, the company has asked corporate employees from its headquartersto volunteer at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
“As we look forward to welcoming back more of our customers this summer, we know they’re counting on us to deliver a reliable operation and help them feel comfortable as they return after many months away from traveling,” Sarah Jantz, a spokesperson for American Airlines, told PEOPLE in a statement.

American Airlines is lifting its ban on carry-on luggage for Basic Economy customers beginning on Sept. 5.Last year, American Airlines introduced Basic Economy tickets, which allows customers to pay for cheaper flights with less services. Fliers are also required to pay for their carry-on bags beyond one personal item, even if it can be stored underneath the seat in front of them.The cost for checking a carry-on bag with American is currently $25.
