American Airlines continued to cancel 50 to 60 flights per day for the rest of June and 50 to 80 flights a day throughout July.The airline tells PEOPLE that the cancellations will only make up about 1% of their daily operations in July.

Olimpia Warsaw, 67, who is a wheelchair user, flew to Chicago for her ex-husband’s funeral, and on her way back home to Detroit on Nov. 30, she was assigned a porter to assist her with luggage and transportation to the airport. Her son, Claude Coltea, toldCBS Chicagothat her flight out of O’Hare was canceled and the airline offered her a hotel room, but didn’t offer to take her to the hotel and she was unable to find her own transportation there because she has trouble communicating.

Austin Police Department Corporal Destiny Silva told reporters that the airline worker “was operating a ground service vehicle that struck a jet bridge” at around 2 p.m. Thursday, reportedABC News. Emergency services arrived on the scene and “located an adult male with obvious signs of trauma to his body,” Silva added. “Unfortunately, the male succumbed to his injuries on scene and was pronounced deceased,” she continued.
