Some good news! The American bald eagle is making a strong comeback.
The species grew to 316,700 birds and 71,400 nesting pairs in the lower 48 states during the 2019 breeding season, per the report.
American bald eagles were previously removed from the list of threatened or endangered species in 2007, theAssociated Pressreported. They are also now protected under the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act,CNNadded.

Janet Rollé has resigned from her role as CEO and executive director of the American Ballet Theatre after just 17 months on the job.
The company announced Rollé’s departure in a press release on Wednesday — a mere week before its summer season is set to begin on June 22. Her resignation is “effective immediately.”
“It has been a privilege to lead such a storied Company during such a crucial period of time, and I am grateful for this experience,” Rollé said in a statement included in the release.

Maurice “Mo” Creek, a former college basketball player at Indiana University Bloomington and George Washington University, is making his way out of Ukraine amid Russia’s invasion into the country.
On Monday, the American athlete, 31, shared an update on social media that he wastraveling out of the war-torn regionafter getting stranded in Mykolaiv, Ukraine, while playing for Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague.
The athlete posted about his situation on Twitter on Sunday, writing “NEVER FELT SO HOPELESS IN MY LIFE” before attempting to exit the country.

American bookie William Sean ‘5Dimes Tony’ Creighton has been found dead in Costa Rica nearly a year after he was kidnapped. He was 43.
Creighton’s remains were discovered in a cemetery, buried in an unmarked grave in Quepos,The Costa Rica Starreported.
His cause of death is not known at this time.
