The family of an American traveler living in Bali is working to bring her home as she recovers from a severe scooter accident that left her in a coma.
Kaitlyn McCaffery suffered a “horrific accident” in the Indonesian province on July 31, and is currently hospitalized in Denpasar with a traumatic brain injury and other “serious” injuries, according to aGoFundMe page.
“She was in a terrible moto-scooter accident while returning home to her apartment,” the page reads.

An American nurse and her child were kidnapped in Haiti on Thursday, according to the nonprofit organizationEl Roi Haiti.
Dorsainvil and her child were abducted “from our campus near Port au Prince while serving in our community ministry,” per a blog post from El Roi Haiti, which noted that it was “grateful for the outpouring of prayers, care, and support for our colleague.

The disturbing encounter occurred on Wednesday morning at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila around 6:20 a.m.,CNN Philippines reports.
Talbot, 43, allegedly claimed that the newborn was her nephew, but had no documentation to prove this, according to CNN Philippines.
“[The] infant was hidden in the oversized belt bag and [she] did not declare nor present to the immigration inspector during departure formalities,” a spokesperson with the PIB told the local outlet.

Federal charges have been filed against a former Kansas resident accused of joining the Islamic State in Syria, where she allegedly organized, led and trained an all-female military regiment, PEOPLE confirms.
Astatementfrom the Department of Justice alleges that Allison Fluke-Ekren, a 42-year-old former teacher, has been charged with providing and conspiring to provide material support or resources to a foreign terrorist organization.
Fluke-Ekren had been previously apprehended in Syria, but was only transferred into the custody of the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Friday.
