The pandemic has shut down a lot, but it has given rise to one thing.
According to new research, two in three Americans (63 percent) said COVID-19 has given them more time to escape into their hobbies and odd jobs than ever before.
Nearly three in four of all those polled said finally having time to spend on these hobbies is a welcome positive in an otherwise dreary year.

It’s official: the best sleep comes from huddling under a cozy blanket in a quiet, cool room.
That’s according to a new survey of 2,000 Americans that found just two in five would rate their quality of sleep as “excellent” (41%). Further, less than a third of adults feel refreshed when waking up in the morning (30%).
A report from theDivision of Sleep Medicine at Harvard Medical Schoolcited the various effects sleep has on wellness, such as reducing the risks of serious health conditions and increasing the chances of a greater lifespan.

Four American speed skaters just became 2022 bronze medallists.
Team USA finished third in the men’s team pursuit speed skating event on Tuesday after defeating the Netherlands in the B final. The American team was made up of Ethan Cepuran, Casey Dawson, Emery Lehman and Joey Mantia.
“I feel like the weight’s been lifted in a sense,” Mantiatold theNew York Times. “I’m an Olympic medalist.”

Those who are more laid-back are adjusting better to quarantine life — and are more optimistic overall, new research found.
Results revealed those who take their time were more likely to consider themselves introverts, while those who move quickly identified most commonly as ambiverts.
The survey also delved into each group’s hobbies, and revealed fast-moving respondents were more likely to enjoy outdoorsy hobbies like gardening and hiking or camping.
