A shooting at a high school graduation party in Atmore, Alabama, early Saturday morning has resulted in one person dead and eight injured, according to theAssociated Press.
Atmore police responded to a call around 2:00 a.m. on Saturday morning with authorities arriving at the former Escambia County Middle School, which now serves as the city’s community center, where they found a man who had been shot to death in the cafeteria.

One person was killed and nine others were injured after a roller coaster derailed at the oldest amusement park in Sweden.
Representatives for Gröna Lund park in Stockholm said the Jetline roller coaster partially derailed Sunday morning while a group of passengers were on the ride, according to theAssociated PressandReuters.
Park chief executive Jan Eriksson said 14 people were on the ride when “the front of the train partly derailed and stopped on the track at a height of between 6 and 8 meters (between 20 and 25 feet),” the AP reported.

A woman has died and nine people have been injured after a fireworks explosion in Michigan.
According to authorities, the explosion took place late on Monday night at a home in western Michigan, reportedNBC News.
Per the outlet, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said police, firefighters and an ambulance responded just after 11 p.m. local time to the explosion in Park Township, Ottawa County. Life-saving measures were performed on the woman but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

One person was killed and at least three were injured after a shooting at the Chabad of Poway synagogue near San Diego, California, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
A 19-year-old man was taken into custody, authorities confirmed on Twitter.
A spokesperson for the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Mayor Steve Vaus said the shooting — which happened on the last day of Passover — is a possible hate crime “because of statements that were made when the shooter entered,” according toCNN.

A deadly storm swept through Louisiana St. Landry’s Parish in the early morning hours on Saturday.
Parish President Jessie Bellard said one person has died and seven people have been transported to local hospitals with injuries related to the overnight storm,KLFYreported. Bellard said others were treated at the scene.
Bellard also gave an update on the damage done, sharing that the trailer of an 18-wheeler is in the middle of the street where most of the destruction occurred, along with multiple other vehicles that were tossed around in the winds.
