A section of a crane fell onto a bridge in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, killing one man and injuring two others.
According toFort Lauderdale Fire and Rescue(FLFR), the construction accident occurred in the area of the Southeast 3rd Ave Bridge on Thursday, April 4.
“During the process of ‘stepping the crane,’ a large section in the operation fell from an elevated position,” FLFR shared in a Facebook post on Thursday. The man who died as well as the two others who were injured were all transported to Broward Health.

One person has died and 22 have been hospitalized due to a multi-statelisteria outbreakwith ties to Florida, health officials confirmed on Thursday.
The infected individuals reside in 10 states across the country, but nearly all the people live in or traveled to Florida within a month of getting sick, the CDC said in aninvestigation notice.
The cases were reported from January 2021 and June 2022 in people ranging from the age of 1 to 92 years old, according to the agency.

One college student is dead and more than two dozen are injured after their shuttle bus crashed on Saturday night in Waltham, Mass., according to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s office.
A driver and 27 students from Brandeis University were in the shuttle bus heading from a hockey game at Northeastern University when the vehicle crashed on South Street around 10:32 p.m., per thepress releasefrom the office.
Undergraduate student Vanessa Mark was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other 26 students and driver were transported to local hospitals for various injuries.

One person is dead and five people are injured following a shooting at a New York City subway station.
The shooting occurred Monday afternoon at the Mount Eden subway station at the intersection of Mount Eden and Jerome Avenues in the Bronx. A New York City Police Department spokesperson told PEOPLE that officers responded to the scene at about 4:47 pm.

Taiwan was hit with a large 6.9 magnitude earthquake on Sunday that caused damage for hundreds of miles and prompted a tsunami warning to be issued in southern Japan.The U.S. Geological Survey initially measured the quake at a higher magnitude, but it was downgraded and the threat of a tsunami had passed,NBC Newsreported. The Japan Meteorological Agency issued a similar warning for several Japanese islands near Taiwan, but later lifted the warning.
