A teenage girl was fatallyelectrocutedafter coming in contact with a downed power line, which fell as a result of a heavy thunderstorm in Michigan on Monday, according to authorities.
The Monroe Public Safety Department said onFacebookthat the 14-year-old girl, who has not been identified, was walking with a friend in her backyard when they “believed that they could smell a bonfire.”
She then “reached for what she believed was a stick, however, it was the charged electrical line,” authorities said in the news release.

The 14-year-old toldAustralia’s ABC Newsthat she quickly realized “there was no one at the steering wheel” as the bus began to roll. She then noticed the danger they were in.

A 14-year-old has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to the shooting of another teenager last month.
The male suspect, whose identification has not been revealed due to his age, was arraigned in Rhode Island Family Court on Tuesday afternoon, a spokesperson for the Providence Police Department said, perABC 6,NBC 10, andWPRI.

A teenager in Florida has been arrested and charged for shooting his sister dead during an argument over their Christmas gifts.

“Through their investigation, detectives learned Damarcus, 15-year-old Darcus Coley, and Abrielle, who are all siblings, went Christmas shopping with their mother and Abrielle’s 11-month-old and six-year-old sons,” added the police release.
“They then went to their grandmother’s home where Damarcus, Darcus, and Abrielle were involved in a verbal altercation over Christmas gifts.

The Columbus Zoo is mourning the loss of a 14-year-old tiger who has died from COVID-19 complications.
Jupiter, who died on June 26 at the facility, is the first animal to succumb to the virus at the zoo, officials said in a Facebook post.
