An Australian teenager has been charged with multiple offences after he allegedlyboarded a commercial flight with a firearmon Thursday, March 6.
Victoria Policeshared in a statementon Friday, March 7 that the 17-year-old had been charged with unlawfully taking control of an aircraft after the scary incident at Avalon Airport near Melbourne.
He was also charged with endangering the safe operation of an aircraft, endangering the safety of an aircraft, carrying dangerous goods on an aircraft and posing a threat to the safety of an aircraft, alongside further charges of possessing a firearm, a bomb hoax and traffic-related offenses.

Police have identified the 17-year-old suspect charged in the fatal shooting of two North Carolina teens.
Issiah Mehki Ross is chargedwith two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Lyric Woods, 14, and Devin Clark, 18, Orange County Sheriff Charles Blackwood said in anews briefingshared via its official Facebook page on Monday.
Blackwood shared that, afterthe bodies of Woods and Clark were foundin September, authorities quickly “secured” a juvenile petition, asking for permission to charge Ross.

Olivia Kiger-Camilo, a 17-year-old dancer from West Virginia, was diagnosed with a rare flesh-eating bacteria several months ago, and although the disease can be fatal, she has recovered.
Kiger-Camilo was at a dance competition in March when she noticed a bleeding open wound in her foot that was causing her intense pain, but she focused on the competition and kept dancing.
“As a dancer, as an athlete, you kind of just brush it aside,” Kiger-Camilo toldWTRF.

A teenager training for the Pennsylvania Army National Guard has died after collapsing during physical training.
Pvt. Alyssa Cahoon, 17, died Thursday in a hospital, five days after she suffered a medical emergency while training at Fort Jackson in South Carolina, according toWLTX. The U.S. Army is conducting an investigation into the cause of death.
Fort Jackson did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
