The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office shared in anews releaseon social media that its officers responded to a campground area north of Shasta Dam at around 9 a.m. local time after getting areportthat two children had “fallen from the camping area to the river.” Upon arrival, they determined that “rocks and debris had broken away from a hillside” and the two children had been caught in the debris and had “fallen down the hillside.

Photo:Getty Getty Two couples are facing multiple child abuse charges for allegedly physically and mentally abusing dozens of children under their care, according to the Michigan Attorney General’s Office. “These children were subjected to routine and systemic mental and physical abuse in the homes of Jerry and Tamal Flore and Joel and Tammy Brown,” Nessel alleged, adding that the “allegations in this matter are heinous and egregious.” She noted that over 30 children were placed in the two couples’ care through fostering or adoption, and that the couples received more than $1 million from the state tax-free after allegedly manipulating the foster and adoption care system.

Two people are dead after two small planes collided midair in Arizona, authorities said. TheNational Transportation Safety Boardannounced that it’s investigating a Wednesday, Feb. 19, midair collision “between Cessna 172S and Lancair 360 MK II near Marana.” The Cessna “landed uneventfully” while the Lancair “impacted terrain near runway 3 and a post-impact fire ensued," the NTSB added.
