Demi Galvin and Yasmeen Scott.Photo: GoFundMe (2) Update: In a statement to PEOPLE on Friday, Niles Public Safety Director Jim Millin said authorities believe Tuesday’s shooting “is believed to be retaliation between two groups” stemming from two recent killings: the Aug. 16 fatal shooting of Farries Maxwell, 36, and the Sept. 8 fatal shooting of Ra’Quon Glenn, 26. “Incidents such as this are obviously devastating for the families involved, but affect the entire community,” Millin wrote.

2 Million Doughnut and Pastry Products Have Been Recalled from Stores Due to Potential Listeria Contamination

The recall, which was initiated on Jan. 7, was upgraded Wednesday to Class II, which is defined as “a situation in which use of [or] exposure to […] a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote,” per theFDA’s website.

2 Million People Will Be Diagnosed with Cancer This Year — the Most Ever — Due to Rising Cancer Rates in Those Under 50

That’s because cancer rates are rising among those under 50, according to the American Cancer Society’sannual report on cancer statistics. “As a nation, we’ve dropped the ball on cancer prevention as incidence continues to increase for many common cancers – like breast, prostate, and endometrial, as well as colorectal and cervical cancers in some young adults,” said Rebecca Siegel, senior scientific director, surveillance research at the American Cancer Society and lead author of the report, per the release.

2 More Arrested After Southern University Student, 20, Died in Alleged Off-Campus Fraternity Hazing

Kyle Thurman and Isaiah Smith were arrested for their involvement in Wilson’s death in February, the Baton Rouge Police announced in apress release. The third suspect Caleb McCray was arrested after turning himself in on March 7.

2 More Victims of Palisades Fire Have Been Identified Nearly 1 Month After Blaze Began

Sykes was pronounced dead on Sunday, Jan. 12, after he was found dead at his residence in the 1700 block of Rambla Pacifico Street in Malibu. His cause of death has been ruled as “inhalation of products of combustion and thermal injuries.
