A Florida couple is marking the happy homecoming of their infant son, who spent nearly four months in the hospital after he was born weighing just 1 lb.
Jessica and Christopher Hill’s son Finn James was born at 24 weeks on May 21, with doctors telling the new parents he had a 50 percent chance of survival, they toldGood Morning America.
The newborn spent the first few months of his life on a ventilator and under the watchful eye of doctors, who put him under the knife to repair a hole in his heart and to correct an illness in his intestines.

A criminal complaint states that the 1-month-old was found “in the living room lying in a car seat just inside of the front door” and “had sustained apparent thermal injuries on various parts of her body.”
“She was clothed in a bodysuit over a diaper. The clothing appeared to have melted onto the diaper, and it was very dirty, possibly burned on the backside,” according to the complaint.

It’s unclear what prompted the dog to attack the child.
“Unfortunately, because of the nature of the incident we haven’t been able to talk to the mother. She is distraught,” Norwich Lt. Anthony Gomes said, theHartford Courantreports. “Our heart goes out to the family. This is just a tragic incident for all of those involved.”

The infant son of two Florida sheriff’s deputies is orphaned after both of his parents took their own lives.
Shortly before midnight on New Year’s Eve, authorities received a call that Osteen had attempted suicide. He was transported to the hospital for his injuries.
On Jan. 2, Osteen’s family decided to remove him from life support, the sheriff’s office said.
Osteen joined the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office in 2019. In 2020, he was awarded deputy of the year, according tohis obituary.
