The victims, who have yet to be identified, were sitting in a car parked in front of their home when shots were fired from a passing car in the Jefferson Park neighborhood around 4:35 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement shared with PEOPLE.
Two women, 20 and 40 years old, and a 6-month-old boy were shot and taken to a local hospital in stable condition, police said.

Three city workers were rescued from the ocean when theSanta Cruz Wharfpartially collapsed on Monday, Dec. 23.
Severe weather had already caused flooding, road closures and evacuations throughout the coastal area before a section of the municipal wharf fell into thePacific Oceanat around 12.45 p.m. local time.
“We believe that everyone that went into the water is now accounted for and safe,” he added.

A Christmas evening shooting at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport left three people with gunshot wounds, including one victim with life-threatening injuries, and one person with a stab wound.Phoenix police are investigating the shooting, which took place at a “restaurant within terminal 4 outside of the security checkpoints,” the department confirmed to PEOPLE in a statement.The shooting victims were a woman who suffered life-threatening injuries and two men, who are in stable condition, per the statement.

Birthdays are three times the fun for one Florida family.
On Aug. 25, the Lammert family celebrated the birthday of three sisters — Sophia 7, Giuliana, 4, and Mia, 1 — who were incredibly all born on the same day three years apart.
Mom Kristin Lammert told PEOPLE that Sophia and Giuliana spent much of the day at school, but planned to celebrate with them during a special dinner Thursday night.

Three skiers have died following two separate avalanches in Oregon and California on Monday, Feb. 17, according to local authorities.
In Oregon, two skiers were buried in an avalanche in an area between the Bend Watershed and Broken Top Mountain “commonly known as Happy Valley,” theDeschutes County Sheriff’s Office(DCSO) stated in a news release.
The two people killed in the avalanche were a couple, Sheriff Kent van der Kamp and officials with theCentral Oregon Avalanche Center.
