A 1-year-old girl was the star of an adorable photoshoot after doctors declared her officially in remission from cancer.
Molly Hughes was just 5 months old when she was diagnosed with stage-four neuroblastoma, a rare type of cancer that typically occurs in the adrenal glands on top of the kidneys, but can also spread to other areas of the body, according toSt. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Neuroblastoma accounts for 50 percent of all cancers in infants, and most children are diagnosed with the disease before they reach the age of 5, the hospital reports.

The parents of a New Mexico infant are accused of being responsible for her death after her body was found buried in a backyard, according to multiple outlets.
Unable to reach the family, police issued a missing person alert for Anastazia, her parents and her two siblings two weeks later on Jan. 2, WTNM reported.

Photo: Chicago Police DepartmentA Chicago couple is facing numerous charges after their 1-year-old son was shot in the head Monday evening as his parents allegedly struggled over a loaded gun.On Wednesday, the boy’s father, Travis McCoy, 26, was charged with felony false alarm and complaint to 911 as well as one misdemeanor county of child endangerment. The boy’s mother, Adriana Smith, 28, was charged with felony obstruction of justice, destruction of evidence and child endangerment.

The body of 1-year-old boy who was swept away in the floodwaters ofHurricane Florencewas recovered Monday morning.
A spokesman for the Union County Sheriff’s Office says the mother, Dazia Lee, of Charlotte, North Carolina, drove around a barricade that was blocking off a flooded road in the small town of Marshville (about an hour outside of Charlotte) on Sunday.
The spokesman says the waters pushed the car into a tree and Lee managed to free herself and her son, Kaiden Lee Welch, but lost her grip on his car seat.

Jose Lara was last seen outside his house in Crescent City, approximately an hour from Daytona Beach. He was playing with his sister.
According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, Jose’s mother briefly took his sister inside to clean her up, and when she returned to the backyard, Jose was gone.
The toy truck he was playing with was still in the yard, but there was no sign of the toddler.
