A four-year-old boy was killed during his return to school on Thursday, Jan. 2, in Sussex, WI., according to Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department (WCSD) news release.
The WCSD was alerted at 8:37 a.m. that a Dairyland-Hamilton bus carrying students hit the K-4 student. “The 4K student was at Silver Spring Intermediate School to transfer to a shuttle bus to be taken to Willow Springs Learning Center,” the WCSD said.
“The cause of the accident is still under investigation, and the bus driver is cooperating fully with the investigation,” according to police.

Kaari’s mom was also injured in the shooting and remains hospitalized in critical condition, the outlet reports. Police do not know whether the girl or mom were the targets of the shooting.
Thursday evening, police responded to a call of shots fired at the Brooklyn Food Market, where they discovered the mother and daughter suffering from gunshot wounds.
The pair were rushed to a local hospital, where Kaari was pronounced dead.

A 4-year-old boy from Wisconsin was recently left unimpressed after his mom devoured his treasured dessert.
According to astatementfrom the Mount Pleasant Police Department, the boy called 911 on March 4 after his mother ate his ice cream.

The4.0-magnitude quakeoriginated 163 kilometers (about 101 miles) east of Cape Canaveral just after 10:45 p.m. local time, according to theUnited States Geological Survey.
