The belovedTodayweatherman, 70, is leading the charge for the morning show’s newStart Todayfitness app, which launches on Monday, Jan. 6, and he tells PEOPLE that the app’s ethos is what really speaks to him.
“It’s about the smaller choices that you make every day that add up to the big things,” explains Roker, who’s been dubbed Start Today’s Chief Motivation Officer.

In a joint interview onEntertainment Tonight’s “Spilling the E-Tea"on Friday, Roker, 69, joked about feeling jealous of the “chemistry” between Roberts, 63, and20/20’s David Muir as the pair discussed her new position asco-anchor on the show.
“I think you’re doing great, you know? I mean, look, the one thing … but the poster of you and David Muir, you’ve got the trench coat, you look [like a] badass,” Roker told the outlet, adding, “In fact, the chemistry almost seems a little too good.
