A “technical issue” grounded all U.S. American Airlines (AA) flights this Christmas Eve.
The airline shared the newsvia X— formerly Twitter — posting, “We’re currently experiencing a technical issue with all American Airlines flights.”
They added that passenger safety was their “utmost priority” and once the situation was resolved they would have people on their way to their destinations.

American Airlines will pioneer a new type oftravel experience.
“First class will not exist on the 777 or, for that matter, at American Airlines,” said American Airlines chief commercial officer Vasu Raja during aninvestor callon Thursday. Raja explained that the reason for the change is that “customers aren’t buying it.”
The announcement comes after American Airlines unveiled its new “Flagship Suite” business class in aSeptember press statement.

An American Airlines passenger has been accused of stealing $10,000 in cash from other fliers during a trip from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Miami, Fla. on Tuesday, according to court documents.
In an email to PEOPLE, an American Airlines spokeswoman confirmed details of the incident.

Radio was arrested, according to the court document, after the missing items were found in his possession.
The alleged crime was discovered when a flight attendant asked a passenger to check her belongings and discovered that several items were missing.

Over 175 people were evacuated from an American Airlines flight that caught on fire at Denver International Airport on Thursday, March 13, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE.Around 5:15 p.m. local time on Thursday, “after the crew reported engine vibrations,” flight AA1006 “diverted to and landed safely at Denver International Airport,” per the FAA statement.“After landing and while taxiing to the gate an engine caught fire and passengers evacuated the aircraft using the slides,” the statement continued.

American Airlines passengers had to hold a man down and duct tape his legs after he attempted to open one of the emergency exit doors mid-flight.
Flight 1219 was heading to O’Hare Airport in Chicago from Albuquerque, New Mexico on Tuesday when “a disturbance in the cabin involving a disruptive customer” prompted the plane to turn back shortly after takeoff, the airline confirmed to PEOPLE.
