Graduating from the U.S. Air Force Academy is already an exciting milestone, but for one class of 2019 cadets, the ceremony served as a touching multi-generational event.Walter Kloc, a 101-year-old WWII veteran traveled some 1,500 miles from Amherst, New York, to Colorado Springs, Colorado, to commission his grandson, Joseph Kloc, as an officer in the Air Force on Wednesday, May 29,according to CNNand theU.S. Air Force Academy.“This is what it’s all about … Walter received a standing ovation, and everyone in the room was gifted with a memory they’ll never forget,” Air Force officials wrote in a Facebook post alongside photos of the grandfather and grandson sharing the special moments.

More than 100 children have been killed since Russia launched itsattack against Ukraineon Feb. 24, a Ukrainian official reportedly said Wednesday.
In an update posted to Telegram, Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova said at least 103 children have died and 100 have been wounded in the ongoing war,according toThe Washington Post. Echoing other assessments, her office warned that the death toll was likely much higher and that it was difficult to determine precise numbers amid the fighting.

An Oklahoma woman celebrated her 103rd birthday on Saturday, just a few months after beating COVID-19.Over the weekend, friends and family surprised Della Hathorne with a sweet, socially-distanced, birthday parade to celebrate the milestone,KOCO 5 reported.“I didn’t know that they were gonna do all of that,” the centenarian told the news outlet.One family member said Hathorne was “very emotional” throughout the parade.KOCO 5 News"She said, ‘I’m not going to cry.
