Prom came early for hundreds of fifth graders on Wednesday, when their classmate who has cancer got to live out one of her biggest dreams.
Eleven-year-old Madison Smallwood, of Monroe, Ohio, was diagnosed with bone cancer and given months to live,reports WLWT. The fifth grader has made sure that every moment she has left counts for something special, including going to prom.

An 11-year-old boy in El Paso, Texas, is determined to help his home city healafter 22 people were killed in Saturday’s mass shootingin a Walmart.
Ruben Martinez is the creator of the #ElPasoChallenge, a social media challenge asking people to commit 22 good deedshonoring those who were murdered.
The boy’s mother, Rose Gandarilla, shared a photo of Ruben on Twitter as well as one of Ruben’s handwritten instructions for the challenge.

An 11-year-old boy from Clarksville, Tennessee who was born without most of his hands received an extra-special Christmas gift this year.
According to theLeaf-Chronicle, Gavin was born without most of his hands due to a vascular disruption that causes lack of blood flow to various body parts. He is also missing his left foot and 40 percent of his tongue, the outlet reported.

An 11-year-old boy is believed to have died in his sleep of hypothermia after his mobile home in Conroe, Texas, lost power due to a massive snowstorm that tore through the state.
On Tuesday, Cristian Pavon Pineda was found unresponsive under a pile of blankets in a bed that he had been sharing with his 3-year-old stepbrother, according to his family.
His mother, Maria Elisa Pineda, toldUnivisionthat she initially wasn’t concerned when Cristian didn’t get up in the morning since he was known for sleeping in.
