Sean Currey was searching for food through a dumpster behind a coffee shop in San Rafael, California on Dec. 10 when he spotted a wallet belonging to 80-year-old Mill Valley resident Evelyn Topper,The Washington Postreported.
Though Currey, who has been homeless on and off for years, briefly contemplated using the credit cards inside, he ultimately decided to call Topper and return the wallet, according to the outlet.
“Anybody in the position of being homeless and cold and tired and hungry, if they found a credit card, they’re going to think about it,” Currey, 57, admitted to theWaPo.

A 12-year-old girl, the sole survivor of a car crash thatkilled three of her siblings, says she feels fortunate to be alive, but wishes she had been able to help her family members.
Michelle Khiev was traveling with her older brothers Tonny, 31, and Johnny, 27, as well as her 14-year-old sister Keo, when their vehicle struck a toll booth on the Atlantic City Expressway, and became “fully engulfed” in flames, New Jersey State Police previously told PEOPLE in a statement.

Police in Lebanon, Missouri, are searching for the driver of a black Chevy pickup truck believed to have struck and killed a 12-year-old girl.
She was flown to Mercy Hospital, where she died.
Jailei’s grandmother, Maxine Sherrer, told KY3 the girl was playing in the yard with her cousins when a ball got out of the yard. Jailei ran to grab the ball from the highway and was struck.

A 12-year-old dog who fell down an abandoned well is now back on dry land thanks to a group of firefighters in Oregon.
Calvin, agolden retriever, was safely pulled from the bottom of a well in Aloha on Monday, according to theTualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.
The department said on social media that firefighters from two of its stations used a tripod and rope system to reach the pup, who had been trapped underground for four hours before his rescue.
