A beloved high school cheerleader in Arizona was fatally shot leaving a house party over the weekend and the suspect or suspects remain at large, say authorities.
According to a news release, the Phoenix Police Department identified the victim as Desiree Rivas.
Her cheer team at Cesar Chavez High School confirmed her death on social media.

A Georgia teen went into kidney failure for the first time, and his mom is nowurging people to get the flu shot.
Just before Christmas, 17-year-old John Chelcy started to complain of muscle aches and exhaustion. That worried his mom LaToya, 42, who said that her son is rarely sick.
LaToya took him to an urgent care facility near their home in LaGrange where John’s condition worsened.
“As the doctor started to touch him to examine him, John started screaming that his body hurt and he couldn’t be touched,”LaToya toldToday.

Lesley Crochet, who organized the fundraiser on behalf of Christopher’s mother, Kristi, wrote that the Mathernes did not evacuate their home before Ida hit Aug. 29 because Christopher was “not feeling quite up to par” at the time.
After the storm hit, the family was unable to reach 911 with local phone lines down, and Kristi and Chris, Christopher’s father, saw their son’s health situation worsen, they told local outletWDSU.

“I do want it to be known that Doctors Hospital tried to do a spinal tap to diagnose her and that the Children’s Hospital at MCG fought aggressively for her," Christina told the outlet.
According to the public safety alert, Ebenroth’s case was the sixth to be reported in Georgia since 1962. While the risk for infection is low, the agency advised that “recreational water users should always assume there is a risk when they enter warm fresh water.
