A teen from Oklahoma has his sights set on joining the military once he becomes an adult later this year. But before he does, he has another wish: to find a family that will adopt him.
“It gets old at times,” the teen told KFOR. “Just being there. Not being able to go out whenever I want.”
Haven is eager to experience the world once he is able to and would like to travel.

An Iowa teenager died after she was discovered unconscious at a rural hog facility this week.
An ambulance and sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at 9:10 p.m. after another worker at the facility discovered Lerdo unconscious on the ground. The sheriff’s office said that she had been helping to clean and power wash the hog facility.
Lerdo, who is from Rockwell City, Iowa, was taken to the Kossuth Regional Health Center where she was pronounced dead, local news station KCCIreported.

For 17-year-old Payal Jangid, her fight against child marriage in her native India is personal.
The teen — who last week was recognized at theGates Foundation Goalkeepers Awardswith the Changemaker Award — has been a tireless force of change when it comes to ending the age-old practice, as it nearly happened to her.
Jangid tells PEOPLE via a translator that she was just 11 when she learned her parents had arranged for her and her sister to be married — and put a stop to it with help from local activists.

A Michigan community is mourning the loss of a 17-year-old girl who was killed in a car crash, just days after celebrating her high school graduation.
The Saginaw County Sheriff’s Office identifiedKirsten Franzelas the sole victim in Sunday evening’s crash, according to CBS affiliateWNEMand NBC affiliateWEYI.
The incident occurred just as Franzel was wrapping up a weekend full of celebrations at St. Charles Community High School, faculty member Donna Schantz told WNEM.
