A Connecticut woman will serve 11 years in prison in connection with the 2017 death of her teenage son, who had autism and died while suffering from severe malnutrition and dehydration, according to multiple reports.
Katiria Tirado, 34, was sentenced Tuesday to 17 years in prison, which will be suspended after she serves 11 years, reports theHartford Courant. The sentence was part of a guilty Alford plea she entered in March to first-degree manslaughter, in which she did not admit guilt but acknowledged that prosecutors had enough evidence to convict her,WFSB reports.

Alex Dragomir, a popular YouTuber who shared his love for soccer and his medical journey with tens of thousands of followers, has died after undergoing a strenuous operation this week, his family said.
For weeks, the 17-year-old from the United Kingdom had used YouTube to share his medical journey after being diagnosed with heart failure.
“My heart is weak. This can’t get better, unfortunately,” Dragomir explained in a recent video to his channel.
