18 People Killed, 13 Injured in Maine Mass Shootings, Manhunt for Suspect Ongoing: Governor

Maine Governor Janet Mills announced Thursday that 18 people were killed and 13 were injured during Wednesday evening’s mass shootings in Lewiston. According to Mills, the suspect in the case, identified as 40-year-old Robert Card, is still at large. Mills said Card is “armed and extremely dangerous.” Seven people were killed at Just-In-Time. At Schemengees, which is about four miles way from Just-In-Time, seven people were killed inside and one was killed outside the bar.

Photo: USCG Great Lakes/Twitter Eighteen people have been rescued after an ice floe they were standing on separated from the Ohio shoreline and floated into Lake Erie, the Coast Guard says. The rescue was triggered when the MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Detroit spotted the groupstranded on the large chunk of icenear Catawba Island, the Coast Guard said. The helicopter crew began hoisting victims into the aircraft as the Station Marblehead’s airboat began taking on passengers.
