A 19-year-old mom died from leukemia just months after losing her newborn son after she delayed her cancer treatments to deliver him.
“Without hesitation, [Rawlings] chose to halve her own chances of survival in order to give her son a fighting chance with as much time as possible – womb side,” friends and family wrote on the page.

Timur Faizutdinov, a defenseman for Dynamo St. Petersburg’s junior team, was taken to a hospital after being hit during a game against Loko Yaroslavl, his team said in astatementposted to their website, which was translated from Russian. He died from the injury on Tuesday.
“The puck hit the head area, the player was hospitalized in serious condition. Doctors fought for his life for three days,” the team said of Faizutdinov.

One student is dead and two others are injured after a column collapsed at an Oregon college the same day the semester began, per multiple reports.
Portland Fire and Rescue said a 19-year-old man and two 18-year-old female classmates were sitting on hammocks at Lewis & Clark College in Portland on Monday when one of the attached masonry columns fell toward them, according toTodayandNBC News.
“We are devastated to report that earlier this evening, a tragic accident occurred on the undergraduate campus in which one of our students was killed and two others were injured,” the school said.
