Texas authorities are investigating a fire that killed two teenagers during a sleepover.
Azalyia’s mother, Lisa Treviño, told Spectrum News 1 her daughter said she was going to a sleepover with a friend the night before. She had been with her family earlier in the evening at a quinceañera, which Maurer also attended.
“I told her, ‘Okay, Azalyia, make good choices, think good choices and I love you,'” Treviño said of the last time she spoke with her daughter.

Two teens have been arrested in connection with amass shooting at a Sweet 16 partythat killed four people and injured 28.The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency announced Wednesday that Ty Reik McCullough, 17, and Travis McCullough, 16, were arrested and formally charged with four counts of reckless murder. Two teenagers were killed and two others, including a 9-month-old boy, were injured in a shooting at a Memphis gas station, according to authorities in Tennessee.
A pair of females, ages 15 and 16,have diedafter they were shot Friday night, according to a series of tweets from the Memphis Police Department.
Police say they originally located three victims upon arriving on scenearound 9:30 p.m. local time, before eventually locating the fourth.

A Sweet 16 party in Georgia ended in tragedy earlier this month when shots rang out as guests were leaving, killing two teens and injuring seven others, say police.
More than 100 partygoers were gathered at a house on Sitka Drive in Douglasville on Saturday, March 4, at 10:41 p.m., when gunfire erupted, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
Samuel Moon, 15, and AJ’anaye (AJ) Hill, 14, were killed, according to the DCSO.

Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with aBaton Rouge nightclub shootingon Jan. 22 that left 12 people wounded.
Nikeal Franklin, 19, and Jy’shaun Jackson, 19, were charged Friday, local authorities reported in a Feb. 11 Facebook post.
“Franklin was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for 12 counts ofAttempted 1st Degree Murder,” added the post. “Jackson was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for 12 counts of Principal to Attempted 1st Degree Murder.
