Two 18-year-olds have been charged with the murder of David McKnight-Hillman, a youth counselor who was fatally beaten while trying to break up a fight at a Los Angeles group home, according to officials.
Keith Lewis and Nyier Mason each face one count of murder, theAngeles County District Attorney’s Officeannounced on Wednesday.
If convicted as charged, they could receive a possible maximum sentence of 15 years to life in prison.

Two teenagers are injured after escaping an explosivefirethat killed one man and critically injured a woman in Manhattan’s East Village Thursday, according to theNew York City Fire Department.
Though the teenagers have not been identified,WABCsaid the 18-year-old and 13-year-old were treated for smoke inhalation and burns from the fire that broke out around 7:15 a.m. on Avenue D.

Two teen murder suspects, ages 15 and 17, were re-arrested in Texas after allegedly cutting off their ankle monitors.
In October 2022, the suspects were allegedly driving around in a stolen vehicle and fired over 100 rounds into a house they believed had individuals inside who had previously shot at them. The incident left a 41-year-old female shot in the leg and another female — who was later identified as 25-year-oldNovita Brazil— fatally shot.

A statement from police in Tacoma does not name the victim or the suspects, but does confirm the deadly incident took place Wednesday afternoon in the city’s Hilltop neighborhood.
The two teen suspects are now in police custody, charged with first-degree murder.
One of them was arrested Thursday. The other — with his lawyer present — turned himself in hours later.
Relatives identified Iyana as the victim of Wednesday’s shooting.

The two teens accused ofattacking and killing a fellow student last month have been chargedwith his death.
On Monday, the two 13-year-old boys, who have not been identified, were charged with voluntary manslaughter for the Sept. 24 death of the their classmate, known only as Diego, theLos Angeles Times,KTLAandABC7report.
Diego was quickly rushed to a hospital, where he remained for days in critical condition before dying from his injuries, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Departmentwrote in a statement.
