Houston attorney Richard Mithoff released a statement toUSA TodaySportson behalf of the family, explaining that the toddler sustained a skull fracture with subdural bleeding, bruising and swelling when the foul ball hit her. Upon being hospitalized, she suffered a seizure and was medicated to help with her recovery. As of right now, she is home and waiting to be reassessed in July.
“The family’s foremost concern is about the health of their child, but they also wanted me to extend their thanks to the fans and the Astros for their concern,” Mithoff told the outlet.

Afterwards, the child — who has not been identified — was taken to a local hospital, where they were in critical condition, police said.
Police are now actively searching for the coyote and have warned anybody in the area to “be on alert and consider this animal extremely dangerous.”
Dallas Animal Services, which is assisting in the search, said their investigation determined “this specific coyote was well known in the neighborhood.

A 2-year-old Kentucky boy is dead after a pit bull that was known to be aggressive mauled the child inside his home despite the valiant efforts of neighbors who eventually scared the dog away, multiple outlets report.
“It was a ferocious dog,” Chadwell told WDRB, adding that her cousin bashed sticks together to scare the dog away.
Chadwell immediately started performing CPR on the severely wounded child.
It was not immediately clear who owned the dog.

A two-year-old Maine boy allegedly shot his parents after he found a loaded handgun on a nightstand.
Sagadahoc County Sheriff Joel Merry said the shooting occurred on Wednesday morning just before 8 a.m. at the family home in West Bath. Merry said the boy’s mother, 22, was shot in the leg, theTimesRecordreported. His father, 25, suffered a minor injury to the back of his head, he said.
