A student at the University of South Carolina was shot dead early Saturday morning after he attempted to enter the wrong home, police said.

CPD officers responded to a reported home burglary on the 500 block of South Holly Street in Columbia, South Carolina, shortly before 2 a.m.
“While en route, the emergency call for service was upgraded to a ‘shots fired’ call. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a deceased male on the front porch with a gunshot wound to the upper body,” the statement reads.

On a recent Tuesday afternoon, the Rodriguez household in Orlando, Florida, was as busy and chaotic as ever.
While Samantha is the oldest of the six Rodriguez siblings, she “didn’t think twice” about taking on two other roles: mom and dad.

A 20-year-old man died in a single-vehicle car crash near his home in Massachusetts on Sunday evening.
Kory Ouellette died as a result of the crash on Puritan Road, according toSalem Police.
Steven Ouellette, Kory’s father, toldThe Boston Globethat the crash happened “300 yards from our home” as his son was on his way there.
Kory slammed into a fence and died of his injuries,NBC affiliate WBTS-CDandBoston.comreported.
It wasn’t immediately clear what led to the crash, but the department’s Criminal Investigation Division and the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team are investigating, according to police.
