A 21-year-old pregnant woman was killed and four others injured in a shooting at a Texas park early Saturday.
TheHouston Police Departmentreceived reports from their ShotSpotter technology of “a total of 36 shots fired” at the Margaret Jenkins Park at 1:14 a.m. on Saturday morning, assistant chief Ernest Garcia said in a news briefing.
A preliminary report showed that there were multiple groups of people at the Sunnyside park where “people started firing their firearms” after an argument began, Garcia said.

Col was reportedly traveling with a group of adventurous students who traveled hundreds of miles to explore the cave system.“They’re all cavers,” Jackson County Sheriff Chuck Phillips told the news station.

Mallie Critser from Fort Myers Beach, Florida, tells PEOPLE on Friday about the impact the storm has caused on her and her family’s life.
Although all of Critser’s siblings (13 children altogether) decided to evacuate, she stayed behind with her parents and grandparents. “I’ve lived on Fort Myers Beach my entire life, and we’ve had hurricanes hit us dead on before and we’ve been fine,” she says, explaining their decision to stay.

The body of a 21-year-old college student studying to be a doctor was recovered in a California park on Saturday, following what his family believes was a freak accident.
Max Lenail, who was from Palo Alto, was last seen going for a run on Friday at Mission Trails Regional Park in San Diego, the San Diego Police Department said.
He’d moved to the city just two weeks ago in order to spend as much time as possible outdoors as he finished his pre-med studies at Brown University remotely, mom Laurie Yoler told CBS/CW affiliateKFMB.
