Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams announced the shooter’s identity as David Katz about six hours after the gunfire, which was reported at 1:34 p.m. In addition to the two fatal victims, the 11 surviving victims were all in stable condition, Williams said.

He is also charged with two counts of malicious wounding for injuring two others, and firearms charges. “Countless hours of interviews and forensic investigation went into this case, to include following up on multiple tips originating from our community members,” Norfolk Interim Police Chief Michael Goldsmith said in a press release.
