Three American firefighters died in a plane crash while helping combat theAustralian bushfiresin New South Wales on Thursday, according to multiple reports.
The identities of the victims aboard the C-130 Hercules firefighting aircraft have not been released, and no survivors have been located yet, said Rural Fire Service Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons at a press conference, according toNBC News.
“Initial reports are that there was a large fireball associated with the impact of the plane as it hit the ground,” said Fitzsimmons.

A search is underway for three Americans who have been missing at sea for 13 days now since setting sail from Mexico en route to San Diego.
Frank O’Brien and Kerry O’Brien — who are husband and wife — as well as their friend, William Gross,have not been seen or heard from since April 4, when the trio left Mazatlán, Mexico, according to a release from the U.S. Coast Guard.

“Our condolences and sympathy go out to the families during this difficult time,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
There were no signs of physical violence or foul play, the spokesperson said after at least nine Americans died on the island in recent months.

A Texas couple vacationing in Turks and Caicos died alongside a family friend in a drowning incident that also involved the trio’s young daughters.
Officers on the Caribbean island responded to a report of a drowning on Bambarra Beach, Middle Caicos, on Monday afternoon, and confirmed the death of a 34-year-old woman, the Royal Turks and Caicos Island Police said in astatement.
The body of an adult male was recovered several hours later, and two female minors were rescued from the waters, police said.

Three Americans are dead and a fourth is hospitalized in the Bahamas on Friday due to unknown causes.
Two men and one woman were found dead at the popular Sandals Emerald Bay resort on Exuma Friday, PEOPLE confirms.
“It is with deep sadness that we can confirm the passing of three guests at Sandals Emerald Bay on May 6, 2022,” a representative for Sandals tells PEOPLE.
“A health emergency was initially reported and following our protocols we immediately alerted emergency medical professionals and relevant local authorities,” the statement continues.
