Three innocent people were killed and seven were injured when an active shooter opened fire Friday morning on a naval base in Pensacola, Florida, authorities said at a Friday press conference.
Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan said the shooter is dead, and that a member of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office “negated the threat.”

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding three small children who vanished under suspicious circumstances Tuesday.
Investigators confirm Analia Essex is missing. The 6-year-old has brown hair, brown eyes. She stands 4 feet tall and weighs 50 pounds.
Police are also searching for Abigail Nicole Christian, who is 2, and has blonde hair with blue eyes. She’s 3 feet tall and weighs 35 pounds.

Three children were found abandoned in a Texas apartment along with the remains of another juvenile, authorities said.
On Sunday, the Harris County Sheriff’s Departmentsaidofficers responded to an apartment complex in Houston where the three kids were found abandoned in an apartment, with “skeletal remains … were also found inside the unit.”
Sheriff Ed Gonzaleztold reportersSunday about the “very horrific situation,” explaining that the kids were ages 15, 10 and 7, and had been left alone “for an extended period of time.

A 21-year-old Florida man faces three counts of aggravated child abuse with bodily harm after being accused of using a lighter to burn the flesh of three kids whom he was caring for, PEOPLE confirms.
The victims are 5, 8 and 10 years old, according to the station.
Citing the affidavit, news station WFTS reports that Mizeallegedly held the children downand singed them with three separate burn marks: two for the eyes, and below that — a “u” for the mouth.

Three people were killed after two firefighting helicopters collided mid-air on Sunday in Southern California.
Deputies responded around 7:20 p.m. local time near Pipeline Road and Apache Trail in Cabazon after “an air emergency,” according tothe Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Their identities have not been released at this time. These are the first casualties of California’s 2023 fire season, according toCNN.
The deadly crash soon followed, causing an additional 4-acre blaze, which was later extinguished.
